Police removed people by force from the garrison of Venaus in the Susa Valley. In a written communication, campaigners of the Susa Valley have stated that the police bludgeoned women, elderly people and journalists.

The cudgel in the place of dialogue.

At this point I ask the police to bludgeon every honest Italian, every Italian who is not “prescritto” (prescritto = not convicted of a crime only because time limits for conviction were in place), every Italian who defends their rights, every Italian who is not in collusion with criminality, every Italian who has not been convicted of a crime.

There are still lots of them.
There are still lots of us.
We are all "Valsusini".

This is the failure of politics.

PS Download the Susa Valley Flyer: “Io sono un Valsusino" and distribute it, perhaps even inserting a photo of yourself.

Police in Italy has too much power!!! And it is ILLEGITIMATE!!!
Changes to the police and a healthy wash to the parliament are needed!!!
Do you remember what happen in Turin for the G8?

to Klaus Eisenmann ......

We complain as u would i f u where to be the one affected. If you are going to contribute to a blog .. at least write something consistent , instead of showing how Freakin ignorant u are ..........

what happended on val di susa is denying the right for people to protest ! democracy allows us the population to protest ! and the goverment instead on using dialogue used violence!!

This is why .. we should be unite and backup the people of val di susa . cuz they have the same rights as al of us

How the Italian government is reacting on the high speed railway issue is a very good example of how things are run in a country that claims to go federal while acting as if local communities and local problems did not exist.
As a Sicilian I can only express my solidarity to the Val di Susa people on what's happening now. I dare not imagine what kind of attitude the government would take if the works for the useless bridge on the Straits of Messina were to begin.
