The V-generation

The V-generation has been born on the Internet. One email at a time. A comment, a link, a trackback, a post, a forum, a chat. Thousands of people have been able to get to know each other, to meet each other. To discuss true politics, connected to work, to school, to health, to safety, to the family, to water, to energy. The Internet is the place for doing politics.
On Saturday the V-generation came into the streets and the squares to sign for the popular initiative draft law. It materialized, but just for those who knew nothing about it. A moment of democracy: a proposal for a popular law. Citizens willingly queued up for hours.
ONLY 300,000 signatures were collected because the forms ran out. In the squares there were at least a million people.
The V-generation has been defined: “Italia di merda” and “anti politics”. The people of the V-generation is a living offence for professional politicians. A crime of “offending the emperor” for many journalists and intellectuals. All people (not with precarious jobs) who have had a good living, very good in recent years at the expense of the country. The million people who came out into the streets, in an orderly way, without flags, without even any tiny incident, must be thanked. It’s the escape valve of the pressure cooker that could explode. A moment of peace to reflect on the future of this country.
The V-generation is pure air, sharing, future.
Gaber would say: “freedom is participating”
.PS: Thanks to all the Meetup groups. You have been FANTASTIC!

Dear Beppe
I follow your "Verb" since 1980 ans I am very happy for your boasting success. Otherwise knowing your "battles" are the same old ones I have some doubts .. today. Is it possible your current great celebrity could come some smart and hidden "directorship" from the renowned Media-Wizard of Arcore ? In order to put in difficulties Mr. Valium, of course.
So take a pause and analize the moment ... and avoid to get "a thing larger than the ass".

Hello everyone,
The amazing story in the recent events, is not that Mr. Grillo was successful in his pursue, but the response of the Class under siege.
The arrogance with which they defend and justify their failures is remarkable.
Not only do not admit their Incompetence, Corruption and Inefficiency, but actually justify their own survival in spite of the blatant reality.
And furthermore, they are scurrying around like chickens with no heads, in an endless search of a new source for the next paycheck or even better more perks.
Their Party Ideologies are evaporating and the same people that believe in them and what they represented are waking up.
Now they should be held accountable for what they did, and even better what they did not do while like leaches they sucked you dry.

I hope this is not the recurrent "sfuriata".
I noticed that Italians feel stronger when in masses and they can be easily manipulated (history teaches).
I hope people will start thinking with their heads instead of blindly follow politicians. It's a lot of work because you have to INFORM yourself. And here is the point: all the media in Italy are partisan. It's rare to find a newspaper/magazine whose sole intention is to inform. Being abroad gives me the opportunity/necessity to read other publications.
Well, it's amazing to see how biased the papers in Italy can be.
So, people, don't be afraid to read and use your head. In the end it pays off.

Great joy, from Spain, knowing about this movement: all the politics to the fucking shit!!
Take a look to my site.

Caro Beppe,
I'd like to thank you for what you've done... I'm one of those "modern slaves" you've been talking about and the day before V-Day my employer had just told me he would give me, again, a "contratto a progetto", trying to make me feel bad of "how much it would cost them to take me on a regular contract"... I have to accept crazy hours, although I'm a teacher, that I've been to college, and I have one laurea and two "specialistiche" and am working on a PhD in literature...
You gave us a chance to express ourselves, because we need to be together, our number is our strength and only together will we be able to change things!
You gave us the opportunity to do it and that strength, we need you to go on!!!
The Spanish used to say "no passaran" and this is what we should say... They can't go on treating us like meat, like slaves.
we don't want to go back to Chaplin's "modern Times", our forfathers fought for our rights but this political cast just took it back from us...

I'm really sorry I couldn't sign the popular law for I am a foreigner in Italy and not listed on the election lists, but I was in Bologna and I heard and felt what is going on... So, again, thank you!!!

Dear Beppe Grillo: I feel bad for the Italian people who just want to work and earn a living and just live a decent life. There must be some way for them to earn money from America while staying at home. I have an idea that might work in a small way. I use to work for Southland Blues magazine as an advertizer and many of our artists over here could sure use a booking agent over there and someone to represent their music in Italy. For instance Honey Davis whose records were sold in Itlay by Goldrano Records wants to make a comeback. By having representation in Italy by someone who can promote their music and perhaps set up a way to sell their cds and vidieos over there could give some people more jobs. Also there must be a way for the women over there to find a way that they could work at home and still take care of their families like arts and crafts, like letting them have their own websites to display their work and even to sell it, even use e-bay. My 101 year old grandma and cousin live in Florence Italy, maybe someday I will meet them. All the best CM

Thank you Beppe, for bringing some hope, decency and sanity back to a country that desperately needs them, in order to bring about the necessary changes; changes that would never materialise if they were left to the will of our employees, for which no low, ever seems to be low enough.

They are too corrupt and full of fear, to appreciate that what the Italian people are trying to accomplish, in the long term will benefit them too, with this necessary, and long overdue, wake up call.

Evolution is the civilised answer to the need for changes, not revolution.

They resist these changes because they know full well what they really are like, and what they really do, behind the scenes, and they can only conceive of a future behind bars for themselves, should these changes take place and, whilst this is understandable from their point of view, one of the problem with these degraded human beings, is that they give for granted that every body else is like them, and would behave like they do.

Cheer up, employees ! The cleaner air to breath, will be there for you too !

Ciao, and congratulations to the courageous and the sophisticated Italian citizens whom have banded together in such ferocious defense of the 'true' meaning of life and politics.
How DARE the Italian government pursue such ignoble causes as self-preservation and profit! How DARE the meek and mild citizens allow this! All people, not just in Italy, but also here in America, must take note of this movement.
Keep up the great work, folks!
Avanti Popolo!

A destra o a sinistra? Chi vivra' vedra'....
