Schifani, un-nameable, untouchable,unjudgeable

Dario Fo talks about the mess-up

Renato Schifani, President of the Senate, has taken action against Marco Travaglio for one million three hundred thousand euro.
Schifani wants compensation for alleged damages resulting from an article by Travaglio and from an interview given to the doormat Fabio Fazio in the programme “Che tempo fa”. Travaglio cited contents of the book “I complici” written by Lirio Abbate and Peter Gomez in which Schifani is mentioned many times, and that is on pages 14, 70, 71, 72, 74,7 5, 77, 78, 80, 81, 82, 84. Lirio Abbate is living with a police escort because of mafia threats and the book of which the first edition came out in February 2007, as far as I know, has not been withdrawn.
Schifani has pre-announced a libel action against the former President of Villabate town council, Francesco Campanella, under investigation for mafia because of relations with Mandalà and Provenzano.
He did it for Campanella’s declarations to the Palermo judges when he said that the new planning regulations for Villabate are thought to have been agreed by Mandalà with Schifani.
So we have two trials (plus a third one).
Trial number one: Schifani against Travaglio, for damages referring to his articles and his interview.
Trial number two: Schifani against Campanella, a libel action for his declarations.
Trial number two could (I say could) decide that Campanella spoke the truth. In which case Travaglio would be right and would win in Trial number one.
But Trial number two, if it were to decide on Schifani’s responsibility (I’m still saying “if”), would not be able to take place in the next five years thanks to the lodo SchifoAlfano. Schifani had already tried in 2003 with the lodo Schifani to give immunity to the top officials in the State. The Constitutional Court threw it out. At times, things come back.
Then there’s Trial number three, the one that can never take place. In fact Travaglio cannot take a libel action against Schifani for the accusations against him because he is immune from trials.
If it happens that Travaglio is found guilty, I will open a public subscription to pay the one million three hundred thousand euro.
“I Quattro dell’Ave Maria” can get trials against the citizens. The citizens cannot get trials against “I Quattro dell’Ave Maria”.

Come è potuto accadere?

“Entriamo a vedere” suggerì qualcun'altro. Entrarono.

All'interno trovarono sale vellissime e vuote. Chiamarono altri amici. Altri arrivarono finchè tutte le stanze furono piene. Uno propose: “Vendiamoci I mobili!”

I believe that Travaglio has probably been chosen as the "first" target of a possible campaign designed to finally shut those few mouths who
dare tell the truth, and expose those criminal behaviours, interests and agendas, which they know will never be exposed by the regime medias, that the system controls, but which the citizens can still find out about, thanks to people like Travaglio, Beppe, and others, something quite unfair in their opinions, I guess.

Doing it thanks to one way, totally unfair and unconstitutional laws, designed on purpose to put people in positions of power beyond the reach of the law, no matter what crimes they commit, whilst they instead can use it to their advantage, to suppress anyone that dares stand up for the truth, should, at least in theory, prove an easy way of sending the message " Keep your mouth shut, or else ", except for the small detail that people like Travaglio, have the guts to tell the truth, no matter what, a quality which must be quite mysterious to most politicians and those in the medias, who serve them.

If they manage to crash, as many of them will certainly hope, one of the few people who represent a real danger to many powerful and
criminal interests, then I am quite sure that they will move on to target n. 2 on the list, and repeat the same exercise, with someone else posing as the "offended party", in order to get the job done, until the way is clear, and we will only know what the Fede, Riotta, Scalfari etc.
will be told to tell us.

It will be very interesting to see if this excercise will turn into a foot bullet for the system, since the truth is certainly not on their side.

You guys are so full of it!!!!! I find it so hard to believe that you guys think this stuff is actually true!!! "Trial number three, the one that can 'never' actually take place.."?????? Your new law states that the 4 highest ranking officials are immune to trial only during there period of office. Now why is it that an American like me has to tell you what your own laws are?? Could it be that you are writing to promote your own best interests...and not really writing to promote what really goes on???? Get it straight guys....you really are making italians look worse and worse...
