Nuclear incidents in France

Interview with Charlotte Mijeon
(11:00)
cop_superphenix.jpg
The blog has interviewed Charlotte Mijeon of the French association called "Sortir du nucléaire", a federation of 875 French anti-nuclear groups with 35,000 people associated. It’s in France that the game against nuclear power is won or lost. France without nuclear power is like having Europe without nuclear power. The mechanism adopted in France to convince the citizens of the ineluctability of nuclear power is the same as that recently adopted in Italy: lies after lies told by those who have already sold themselves and money upon money for advertising and to provide fodder for the newspapers. Fukushima is making Chernobyl pale into insignificance; it’s not possible to bury the dead, the radius of the territory that is radioactive is slowly getting bigger and getting closer to Tokyo and the water-bearing strata below the reactors are recording “abnormal” levels of radioactivity as has been declared by Tepco itself. There’s a figure for radioactive iodine recorded in the sea water that is a good 4,385 times higher than the legal limit. In the face of this immense disaster, whose consequences are still not understandable, the Italian newspapers, financed with our taxes, keep quiet and they discuss Fukushima after page 20.
PS: The "nuclear faces" of the Opposition who absented themselves for the voting to bring together the referendum with the local elections are: Capano, Cimadoro, Ciriello, D'Antona, Farina, Fassino, Fedi, Gozi, Madia, Mastromauro, Porcino, and Samperi.

Interview with Charlotte Mijeon of “Sortir du nucléaire

Blog: Viewed from Italy, it seems that all French people are in favour of nuclear energy. Is that right?
Charlotte Mijeon: No, it’s not right. I would say that most French people are critical of nuclear energy. And they are even more since the accident at Fukushima. And there are few people, very few people who are giving their support to nuclear energy. What is giving the impression that people are in favour of nuclear energy is the fact that there’s a strong lobby, with really powerful propaganda that has the objective of financing loads of advertising on all the TV channels and everywhere else. And even the people have been subject to so much “brain washing” that they have the idea that yes, nuclear energy isn’t very good, but what can we do? And the problem is that many people don’t know that alternatives exist.

Nuclear incidents in France
Blog: In France, have there been accidents in the nuclear reactors?
CM: Nothing on the scale of Fukushima, this is sure. There have been some significant events. In particular, three years ago at the Tricastin nuclear reactor where 75 litres of contaminated water ended up in a river. It was serious contamination. The episodes or the incidents at nuclear power stations are not well known.

...

The Republic of Niger contaminated
Blog: Can you tell us something about the contamination in the Republic of Niger due to the extraction of uranium by France?
CM: France has been extracting uranium from Niger since the 1960s. You come into a country, pollute anything, take the resources, leaving nothing and without saying anything to the population. You just leave pollution. There are two big mines in Niger.

Planet of the Apes.

Never mind France and it's nuclear problems,
more fitting would be taking a look at the present remake of the Planet of the Apes showing on italian TV screens NOW.

The so called guardia forestale appeard on several news casts - riding horses and chasing escaped immigrants from the lager in Manduria.

Are the mounted forest guards being used for this purpose because the immigrants are dark skinned and are considered animals ?

Or is this really a remake of the film but roles have been reversed where now we have white skinned monkeys on horseback hunting dark skinned human beings ?

This is disgusting and shame on you Italy.

In the 1890s / 1900+ many of you emmigrated to the USA and were welcomed by the sight of the statue of liberty and hope for a better future.

And all you can offer to the north african emmigrants today is the hope that the french police won't catch them and send them back to shitty Italy when they try and cross over to France.

If you italians know anything about 'karma' then be prepared that your karma will catch up with you sooner or later and by the present going it won't be a better next-life.
