Nuclear ravings of an old madman

tacchi_nucleari.jpg

The words pronounced yesterday by an old madman mark the boundary between the end of democracy in Italy and his pretty feeble survival:
"We are absolutely convinced that nuclear energy is the future for the whole world. The moratorium has been useful to have time to let the situation in Japan get clearer and in the space of 1 to 2 years, public opinion will be aware enough to return to nuclear, what has happened in Japan following on from the surveys that we regularly carry out has given a further shock to our citizens. If we had been having the referendum today, nuclear in Italy would not be possible for many years into the future.” The government “has been responsible and so wanted to bring in this moratorium so that it’s possible to let the situation be clarified and so that, perhaps after a year, or perhaps two years, it’ll be possible to have public opinion aware of the need to return to nuclear, the many contracts that have been set up will not be reneged on (Between EDF and ENEL – editor), we are continuing and deciding to move forward many sectors of these contracts like the ones relating to training.
In these words there is the total contempt for the citizen and for the will of the people.
The Court of Cassation must make a pronouncement on the referendum against nuclear. The Government has withdrawn the law for the construction of new reactors so that it can repropose it in a year’s time (public pronouncement by the head of the Government) in the hope that the Fukushima disaster will be forgotten. It is, as even a five year old child would understand, a way of taking us for a ride. The Central Office of the Court of Cassation chaired by Capotosti, has to decide whether the referendum will go ahead anyway. If it cancels it will be an accomplice.
Article 39 of law 352/1970 says: “if before the date that the referendum is carried out, the law, or the act having the force of law, or the individual arrangements in it to which the referendum refers, have been abrogated, the Central Office for the referendum declares that the relative operations will not continue to go ahead.
Here it is clear, no one wants to abrogate anything, they simple want to let time pass. It is a mafia technique: "Quannu tira u ventu fatti canna!" (Sicilian Proverb: Watch out when the wind blows!) of a nuclear government and a colluding Opposition that has Veronesi as a testimonial (former senator with the PDminusL) and that caused the failure of the proposal to bring together the local elections and the referendum with its absences in Parliament (10 PDminusL, 2 IdV).The Court of Cassation is facing a choice. It’s either with the citizens, or it’s with the P2-ist corruptor and his lackeys. They will never give up (but is it in their interests?). Neither will we.

Sadly yet again we have prominent people and not just politicians sounding off with pronouncements about nuclear power but only about perceived benefits. Little about dangers both directly from radiation leakage and from geological failures such as occurred in Japan, little about cost, little about duration, little about disposing of nuclear waste. Notice that the scientists who publicly give support are generally not physicists, not geologists, not engineers and not even investigative journalists with a scientific background who might know something about all the hidden accidents at nuclear power plants around the world. In short, no attempt to get unbiased assessments of the whole program, just pronouncements that do little to help the layman to fully understand what are the realistic implications of a nuclear future.
Any forward thinking statesman or scientist should also be thinking about what happens when nuclear fuel is exhausted. Perhaps they have not
realised that on his planet the amount of nuclear fuel is finite like organic ones.

the sneaky little (not very tall)scoundrel with one of his sleazy tricks is trying to bugger the italian people again!Think that a lot of them love to be buggered. We'll never have a change unless we don't change the italian way of thinking. The average italian think he is the smartest ass in the whole universe but he doesn't know that in the "smart basses contry",in the long run everybody is a fool!As for your movement there is a Confucius say:a 1000 miles begins with one step....keep going,we'll follow!
