But what kind of planet have you done for me? (second episode)

But what kind of planet have you done for me? The society constructed on debt has disappeared. Production of products that are damaging for the environment is illegal. Every country has the objective of becoming ecologically sustainable, of living with the resources created in the territory. Company profits are destined for the good of society. The concept of ethical energy is taught in elementary schools. The production of weapons of war is a crime against humanity. Politics is forbidden to anyone over the age of 65. Some people would like to lower that age. The Ministry of Defence has become a charity, and peace missions are a reality. The “citizen income” makes it possible for anyone to live while they are waiting for a job. There are no longer apartments without tenants. The State pays the whole rent or a part of it for those families that cannot afford the rent. There’s nowhere where it’s possible to construct new homes if there are empty homes or homes that need restructuring. Speculation on real estate is prohibited. Beggars in the cities are assisted by local authority employees and set on the path to socially useful work. No one is left on their own. The spectacle of children asking for charity at the traffic lights or of people with mutilations seated on the pavement is considered to be a barbarity of the past. Every citizen dedicates a proportion of their time serving the needs of society. In Milan, the canals have been reopened and it’s possible to arrive at Venice starting from the Duomo. Corruption is punished with social isolation. No one any longer wants to have anything to do with a corrupt person. Many criminals, out of desperation, have emigrated forever. Every five years, there’s online voting for a New Constitution and to renew the country’s social pact. The motorways are free as they have already been paid for by generations of Italians and Benetton has been consigned to the Mapuche. Every family has the possibility of producing electricity and of distributing it on the network. Enel has been converted to a multinational bee-keeping company. Distributors of GMO products are pursued throughout the planet, just like those who once distributed hard drugs. Cannabis has been decriminalised. Fini and Giovanardi have been sentenced to a weekly marijuana joint in direct streaming. From that moment on, they are much improved. Crimes have gone down and the few police officers have to show their identity card to the citizens. The word “market” is only used for the local street market and the word “State” has become a noble expression. (end of the second episode)
