TERRIBLY SORRY - WE’VE GOT NO ONE LIKE CICCIOLINA
“I don’t know if we can be forgiven. Among the M5S parliamentary candidates there’s not even one famous person.
There’s no Olympic athlete, like Valentina Vezzali, no big industrialists, no hired journalists, no antimafia champions, no offspring of politicians, no former trades unionists. But above all, we have no old political acquaintances who have grown up on a diet of bread and ideology in the secretariats of the various parties who are trying to achieve a seat, a bit as though it were an end-of-career reward: the gift that they give you when you have saved up enough supermarket loyalty points.
We have no plastic females with breast implants, with needle thin heels, miniskirted, but we have female students, teachers, office workers, professionals, accountants who have the experience of bringing up children and working really hard and who are not having to wear layers of make up and expose loads of flesh to hide the emptiness of their brains.
We are still convinced that consensus (and thus votes) is achieved with credibility, with commitment, with sacrifices and with information and it’s not achieved by exploiting the fame of a few people who are exhibited like sparkling trophies used to attract a sympathy vote and to provide an emotive moment.
Above all, our situation needs a new set of people who are outside the usual trivial games, the usual acquaintances, the party mechanisms and who can give the best of themselves with a great commitment for a limited period of a maximum of two terms of office.
If there is no change of people, after 24 February 2013, we will find ourselves stuck with a limping mixed technical/political government headed by either Berlusconi or Bersani or both at the service of the banks with Monti leading everything.
Don’t delude yourselves with the numbers provided by the opinion polls. These are throwing smoke in your eyes so as to hide the post-election mess-ups.” Thoughts of Antonino D., Leonforte

Dear Beppe Grillo,
my name is Rüdiger Hofer, I am an Italian living in Austria, Vienna. I'm registered at A.I.R.E., the Anagrafe Italiani Residenti all'Estero. I'd like to congratulate You for Your great Movement!
I am really interested in a world like the one You picture in Your speekings (in fact, I reflected in my master thesis about John Lennon's song "Imagine" which sounds a bit like Your initiative).
I live in Vienna, though, with my family, and my mother tongue is German; nevertheless I passed my best time during studies at the university of Venice in 1997-98. Therefore I always seek the contact with Italy, though I happened to end up in Vienna. Here I graduated in musicology (humanities) in 2006.
I would be pleased to contribute something to Your Movement - if that's possible, please let me know!
Yours sincerely,
Mag. Rüdiger Hofer (A-Vienna)
