Dictionary of the mess up - by Marco Travaglio

“The 5 Star people that voted for Grasso as opposed to Schifani, knew all too well who Schifani is and they chose the least worst, that is Grasso. But they didn’t have the foggiest idea of who Grasso is, and that is a big problem. Especially for those that say they get their information from the Internet so as to escape the regime propaganda. If they had truly read up on this, they would have discovered that the Schifani-Grasso dualism was fictitious. Schifani has always been pleasing to the PD, and in fact, 5 years ago they didn’t put up a candidate to stand against him, they consigned blank ballot papers in the election and they sent Ms Finocchiaro to give him a kiss on the cheek. Then when I talked about Schifani on TV, the first to attack me were Finocchiaro, Violante, Gentiloni, Ruffini (the director of Rai3) and La Repubblica. Schifani was the connecting link in the PDL-PD mess up. Just as Grasso, who, in order to avoid political attacks, has always stayed well clear of the most uncomfortable investigations into the mafia and politics, while other prosecuting magistrates have paid and are still paying the indescribable price for carrying out their investigations. No one has written this in the centre page spreads about the new President of he Senate: but when Grasso arrived in the Palermo Prosecutors' Office in 2000, he found that Schifani was under investigation for mafia involvement and he had the case immediately closed. (That investigation was reopened after his departure.) In that way, he runs with the hare and hunts with the hounds and becomes the darling of the PDL (who planted him in the position of the National Antimafia Prosecutor, and getting Caselli ousted by law), the darling of the Centre (who wanted him as a candidate) and of the PD (who got as a candidate). But what counts in politics is not truth, but the perception of truth, and that’s why on Saturday, it was difficult for the Sicilian Grillo people not to vote for a guy who had been painted as a spotless and fearless knight. Once more, the regime media give their all to play the game of the parties, with the careful delivery of half truths and half lies and the double-standards dictionary of the great occasions.
Leninism. The basic rule of democracy is that the majority decides and that whoever loses either gets used to it or leaves (apart from a few issues for which an individual’s conscience is at stake). That’s how the M5S behaved on the issues of the Presidents of the Upper and Lower Houses, with the majority deciding to present blank ballot papers. But, given that that was not pleasing to the PD, the minority became democratic and the majority anti-democratic. “Leninist”, said Bersani, without explaining with which democratic method he passed in 48 hours from offering the two Houses to Monti and M5S, to the duo Franceschini-Finocchiaro, and then to the duo Boldrini - Grasso.
Dissent.

...

Now we discover there’s a pro-dissenters “web revolt” But also, according to Mannheimer’s opinion poll published in Il Corriere, 70% of M5S voters are against the mess ups with the PD. Dear trumpeters, could you kindly agree among yourselves and then let us know the situation, possibly using the correct names for things? it seems clear that there are no alternative, the only possibility shall be to block this 'machine' by a peaceful and silent position token by the people self. Until this economic mechanism will go on as usual nothing will change. Let's sit down for a while, doing nothing & enjoying the family or them you love............no march will be necessary, nobody will be hurt. Clearly their 'body' is a square one........but a square has painful corners, our dream is to avoid any relation with a past made by violence. In order to reach this level will be necessary to stop thinking as the square-minded do...........could be this a positive sign of evolved mentality?

Likely Ministers in Bersani Cabinet:

Bombassei, 72 years old, Minister of Economic Recovery and Development
Giuseppe De Rita, 80 years old, Welfare and Employment Minister
Padoan, 80 years old, all' Treasure Minister
Valerio Onida, 78 years old, Minister of Political Reforms.
The culture of gerontocracy, famous for conservatism and political patronage system in Italy, bridles development measures and social mobility.
Even if you (M5S) do not give your vote of confidence, you may wish to exercise your indirect influence to inject new lymph into the cabinet positions.

‘A Year of Living Dangerously’ is a fine movie of 1983 full of corrupted stuff: Mr. Travaglio is a man of the World.

LONG LIVE DICTATORS !!!!!!

Grillo again vocalised his political views,
arguing that the world encourages mass killing through wars and weapons of mass destruction,

Grillo was booed.

Critical reception was largely negative.

The negative reaction was largely the result of changes to Grillos's public image.

The popular image of the clown who induces laughter and tears ... was
superseded by a public image that was considered dangerously progressive and amoral.

He socialised with several individuals linked with communism.

Investigation was opened on Grillo under the premise that he was a potential threat to national security.

Grillo denied being a communist
but felt the government's effort to suppress the
ideology was an unacceptable infringement of civil liberties.

Unwilling to be quiet about the issue, he openly protested.

Grillo received a subpoena but was not called to testify.

His activities were not only widely reported in the press…… ...calls were made for him to be deported, ...

….. If he is deported….. ... his loathsome pictures can be kept from before the eyes of the youth.

He should be deported and gotten rid of at once.

Grillo stated:
"Whether I re-entered that unhappy country or not was of little consequence to me. I would like to have told them that the sooner I was rid of that hate-beleaguered atmosphere the better, that I was fed up of insults and moral pomposity"

Change the name Grillo to Chaplin, and you get extracts from the Charlie Chaplin wikkipedia page.

And Chaplin, just for his thoughts, had his re-entry permit into the USA revoked at the time.

Thank God humanity has evolved in the last 60 years.

SHAME on all you stupid morons convinced that Grillo is a danger to the world!

LONG LIVE DICTATORS such as Chaplin and Grillo.

Without them the world would be hell.

I reading Mr Travaglio, I dare posting here again my discomfort of a few days ago at the support given to the PD. To that, I can only add that I did not know anything about Mr Grasso, however, we do not like the magistrate becoming a politician. Not needed.
My previous post reads: What was expected was that the candidate of M5S is elected as president at the higher chamber. What happened with Mr. Grasso election has the foreseeable consequence for M5S to loose supporters. Many of them, I guess. On the other hand, no wonder: Italians are well known for digressing from what they promised. In his recent performance on this blog, Dario Fo gave so much credit to the M5S elected; I wonder whether he really believed in what he said. Dario Fo knows the course of history better than most others. Nonetheless, it is sad that the last chance of fighting against the economy of growth has been lost. MS5 Senators who voted for Mr Grasso voted for PD, that is for the economy of growth; worse, carried out as with the Monte dei Paschi or the waste of money of the tunnel in Val di Susa. At any event, that you like or not that type of economy, Italy has no chances within the economy of growth. Countries like Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, and a few others, are unreachable on that ground, which will continue until the last natural resources. At that final stage, people lacking means to survive will start a war with the means they have, may be a knife. What now? Unless MS5 senators who voted Mr Grasso resign, or the founders of MS5 withdraw their support and the M5S logo. Making predictions with the future, was always difficult. And that is the case here. Senators have now their salary, perhaps the first one for some of them. The founders of MS5 benefit from their logo. On this ground, my prediction is that nothing will happen, things at the chambers will continue the Italian way. What Robert Musil wrote “Moral ist die Zuordnung jedes Augenblickszustands unseres Lebens zu einem Dauerzustand!” does not belong to that world, perhaps not even to Italy at large. Cheers, Franz.
